I’m excited to share with you guys a special event that I’m training for this month. The TrainWithSerge Weekend 2016 features two days of signature fitness events that will bring out the fun in fitness for everyone in the Washington, D.C. metro area. All fitness levels are invited to participate August 19-20 for a boot camp, an obstacle race, afterparties, contests and more! This is a health and fitness-focused weekend of events that you will not want to miss.
This event is put together by a friend of mine, Serge Sejour, who is one of D.C.’s most popular trainers and also the east coast regional director of fitness for Gold’s Gym. Serge has trained top athletes from the NFL and the NHL and recently won Best Personal Trainer at this year’s DCWKLY Awards.
The last time that I took part in the TrainWithSerge Weekend was in 2014, and I have to say that I had a ball. There was a boot camp, a fun run, after-parties and lots of networking and connecting with fellow fitness lovers from the DMV area. Not often do you get such a huge, diverse group of people together to sweat it out and have that much fun, and this year will be no different.
Check out what’s in store at this year’s fun-filled weekend of events!
This intense, sweat-inducing boot camp takes place Friday, Aug. 19 at Soundcheck on K Street for a boot camp that will combine intervals of cardio drills and muscle conditioning exercises to provide trainees with the ultimate workout. Burn 400 – 600 calories in a variety of exercises that may use jump ropes, boxing drills, free weights, and a dash of healthy competition. Get your tickets here.
Saturday Aug. 20
TrainWithSerge (TWS) Games will be a friendly-but-fierce competition that will push contestants to the limit, all while helping to raise funds and awareness for the American Diabetes Association. On Saturday, Aug. 20, the best of D.C. will gather at Howard University Greene Stadium to compete in a race of 12 intense obstacles, including sled pushes, dead lifts, the reservoir run and much more that will test all levels of fitness. TWS athletes will team up with Howard University’s athletics staff to oversee three groups of contestants from all fitness levels, that will have their speed, agility, strength, and willpower tested. Three male competitors and three female competitors will take home the top prizes! Get your tickets here.
There will also be plenty of time to celebrate our wins at the after-parties both Friday and Saturday nights. RSVP here for FREE entry!
