The activewear scene seems to have exploded in the year 2014. Gone are the days when Nike, Adidas and Puma were the only options for fitness gear. With tons of new brand offerings and celebs dipping into the market as spokespersons (hello! Beyonce for Topshop), there are tons of options in every price range. This is great news and just in time to keep you stylish while you tackle your new year’s fitness resolutions.
Ever the fast fashion giant, Forever 21 has launched a new activewear collection for Spring 2015. The new collection includes a broad range of items such as sports bras, leggings, running shorts, hats, pullovers, gym bags and more. You might see some rather familiar designs, as the collection includes some pieces that are very similar to some of the top, more expensive sports brands.
Overall, my experience with F21 activewear has been good. I will note that I prefer the sports bras they have with seams, as they have more support, and after a while the crotch has worn out in 2 pairs of pants I have from them. In all fairness, though, I wore them weekly for nearly two years straight, which isn’t bad for $24. The cost per wear is pretty great in that respect.
Check out some of my favorite pieces from the large collection. Links to purchase below also.
Faux leather training shorts (they’re super short, but really cute)
Cracked print crisscross-back sports bra (How cute is this??)
Dot print paneled leggings with side pocket (The side pocket is the perfect place to tuck your phone during weight training or other low-impact moves.)
Remember a few months back I posted about the $700 leather drawstring gym bag by Alexander Wang? Well Forever 21’s got all you budget-conscious babes covered. Here’s they’re answer to (ahem, copy of) the cute croc-print bag in vegan leather (aka “pleather) for only $19.90.
Of course it’s not exactly the same as the Wang version…but it’s going to get sweaty anyway!
